ACL contributes to shipping with lower emissions

— 28/03/2025

As a specialist in making polyester molded parts, ACL has recently contributed to a groundbreaking project: the future-proof EVOLVE engine 4EL23. This was done in collaboration with Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC) from Ghent.

ABC from Ghent specializes in ship propulsion and power generation on land. In their industry, it is extremely important to respond to future developments, as emission standards are becoming increasingly stricter in order to limit climate change. The new EVOLVE engine fits perfectly into this picture. The range is specifically designed to aim for very low emissions or even zero emissions.

Multifuel engine with polyester components

The approach of the EVOLVE engine is to be fuel-independent and efficient, while emissions continue to decrease in the future. The new 4EL23 is the first engine in the EVOLVE series, with which ABC is taking a step toward a green future for maritime transport. It is a medium-speed multifuel engine that can operate on different fuels, thus enabling the transition to less polluting fuels.
Naturally, the innovative multifuel engine also contains custom-made polyester parts, which ACL was responsible for. In this way, we proudly contribute our part to greener shipping.
